Winter bucket list: Activities to share with your dog

Winter is a great time to curl up with our four-legged best friends and a cozy drink. (It's still peppermint hot chocolate season as far as we're concerned.) It can also be a season of adventure, though — whatever that means to you!

Here's a winter bucket list of dog-friendly activities to try with your pup before spring rolls around. These make great enrichment opportunities!

At home

Have fun with your dog in the comfort of your own space.

  • Make warm drinks together — we recommend hot chocolate or coffee for you and warm bone broth for your pup
  • Set up an obstacle course in your living room
  • Bake some homemade dog treats (or repurpose a dog-friendly birthday cake recipe!)
  • Snuggle up for a movie marathon
  • Proof your dog's down or sit stay while you dance to music
  • Give your dog an enrichment toy while you read a book — mental stimulation for us humans! (We love SodaPup's fun winter-themed options. Code JUNIPER10 gives you a discount!)

Outdoor adventures

Getting outside in the winter just requires a little more planning (and lots more layers).

  • Go for a winter hike (consider getting a comfortable jacket for your dog if they struggle in cold temperatures — JUST FRED has some fun colorful sweaters, and code JUNIPER15 gets a discount if you're interested!)
  • Rent some snowshoes for a twist on your daily walk
  • Try out skijoring, where your dog pulls you on cross country skis
  • Consider another form of dog sledding if your dog is up for it
  • Let your pup chase you down a sledding hill (make sure the environment is safe first!)

Indoor activities

Adventure doesn't have to happen outside!

  • Visit a pet-friendly store and let your dog smell new scents
  • Sign up for an indoor dog training class, like agility or rally obedience
  • Hang out at a dog-friendly coffee shop (always check local guidelines before entering a business with your pet)
  • Have a playdate with a trusted dog friend

What’s a Rich Text element?

The rich text element allows you to create and format headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, images, and video all in one place instead of having to add and format them individually. Just double-click and easily create content.

Static and dynamic content editing

Static and dynamic content editing

A rich text element can be used with static or dynamic content. For static content, just drop it into any page and begin editing. For dynamic content, add a rich text field to any collection and then connect a rich text element to that field in the settings panel. Voila!

How to customize formatting for each rich text

Headings, paragraphs, blockquotes, figures, images, and figure captions can all be styled after a class is added to the rich text element using the "When inside of" nested selector system.
